To begin we’ll have a 15 minute consult or a full session to see if we might be a good fit. What I’ll be asking about is what is bringing you to therapy now, what feels urgent, and get a little bit of information from you about past experiences to help me understand what’s going on. If we decide to work together one of the things I’m doing for the first few sessions is learning how to listen to you so that I can be as helpful as possible.
For our first few session I prefer video sessions, and after that we can choose to do phone or video sessions, depending on insurance requirements.
I work with most clients on a weekly basis, but have a range of frequency including bi-weekly, monthly and as-needed.
Some clients stay for six months, and others stay for a few years – and that decision is 100% yours to make.
Topics that often come up in therapy include (and are most certainly not limited to): feeling on edge, feeling shut down, figuring out how to find/be in/get out of relationships, sex, sexuality, dating, gender, neurodivergence, formative childhood experiences, sadness, chronic pain, money, food, parents, parenting, climate disaster, pop culture, capitalism, intergenerational trauma, anger, friendship, culture, and much more.
